16/07/2010 Greetings! Welcome to the new look for the MickMacks website. With the exception of the very first version, until now, this website has been the place for MickMacks Meatbucket, the name for original comic books and entertainment media from MickMacks. Now, I am reinstating the original design, where, it is a MickMacks home page, with subsequent links to Meatbucket and other branches of MickMacks products and services. The next instalment of these, called 'Dark Things', is currently under construction, and will be up and running in a few weeks, as I move to Melbourne and get settled in. So keep an eye out for that! I have recently scored exactly what I've been wishing for for so long, which is to get an animation job in Melbourne, so I am incredibly excited about that, and looking for ways to ensure it will last. As such, everything, except the bare minimum of Meatbucket products will be able to be produced. In other news, the Sydney based sci-fi rock band, SLIMEY THINGS, have just released their newest album 'Quantum Reality TV' for which I have been creating the artwork for the past several months. So check that out now! Well, that's all the news for now, Catchya soon, J. |

15/6/2010 Howdy doody doods and doodettes, Well, time has come for another Supanova!! So this week, I'll be headed to Sydney to partake in the super awesome fun! I can't wait to once again be immersed in geek-culture and the wonderful types of people that are also excited to be part of it. I must admit, however, my favourite part of the shows, are the awesome cosplayers!! In the past year, I have made sooo many wonderful new friends out of them. You are all beautiful! If you will be at the show, please stop by at my stall and say hello, or... even... buy something? Have a watch of this movie to the right, to witness all the fun that was had at last year's convention in Sydney. (And also see how much of a clown I am :P) After Sydney, I shall be heading to Melbourne once again! This time, I'll be attending the Tim Burton exhibition. (That's the thing I'm using as an excuse to justify me going there again ;D) I've heard that Mr. Burton himself will be there, so I'm making it my business to be in the same place at the same time. I'm hoping to give him a bunch of stuff, and let him know about the existence of MickMacks, so wish me luck. I'm so excited, just to meet him. His exhibition will also be so inspiring, to see where he started, and how far he has come. (I wanna be just like him) OK, enough gushing. Oh crap, I'm totally gona collapse into a jibbering jelly-sack of goo in front of him. Remembering/being able to speak is only half the challenge, once I overcome that, I also have to make sure what I do say is atleeast understandable, if not a barrage of disjointed jibberish... Anyway, I'm very excited about the near future to say the least, I hope I can catch up with all my interstate friends once again, and have a blast!! J. |

18/5/2010 Hi!! :D Well, it's been a while since I last updated my site, so I thought it would be a good time to give it a complete new overhaul. I returned from Supanova, which was so much fun! A big thank you to everyone who came to see me, and especially to those who helped me out along the way, you have no idea how much you saved me :) Check out the MickMacks facebook page to see photos of the fun at Supanova! That said, however, there were a few slight 'hiccups' along the way, which have made me think of new directions I would like to take MickMacks in. The conventions mark a certain 'anniversary' for MickMacks, so it seems a good time to bring the next phase. Please notice the new features of the site, including the list of buttons above, they will link you to new windows for easier browsing :) Sydney-based, retro-futuristic band 'Slimey Things', are making a digital release their new album' Quantum Reality TV' so check out www.slimeythingswebsite.com for details on how to get that. I recently finished all of the album art for QRTV, which can be viewed on my DeviantArt gallery. I'm also developing a film clip for the Slimeys. Catchya, J. |

8/4/2010 Hi Everyone!!111 Well, Supanova is now upon me, I've been whinging for time to hurry up for ages, now I find myself rushing to get everything done in time. However, it has all come together, in the nick of time, so I am ready for the whirlwind of fun to come. Just a message to those I hand my card out to at the shows. It has my MickMacks email on it, however, you'll have more luck reaching me at jarrode2001@yahoo.com.au (Or on Facebook) Although, I won't be living on my computer as much as usually do for the next few weeks. But I will get back to you! Speaking of Facebook, be sure to become a fan of MickMacks on it. Also while you're at it, add me as a friend on MySpace, watch me on DeviantArt, Subscribe to my YouTube Channel and... I think that's all the shameless self promotion for now. OH! And ask me stuff on my FormSpring.me too! I frequent these sites very often (while I'm in the 'office') and it makes me feel all warm and squishy to hear from people! (I like being warm and squishy) So, I really hope to see you at the shows. I'll be at the Brisbane Supanova on 9th-11th of this month, and at the Melbourne show on the 17th and 18th! So please, drop by and say hello! :D Jarrod.
(PS. tell all your friends to do all that aforementioned stuff too ;D) |

16/03/2010 Hi!! Well, lately I've been feeling the crunch of the upcoming Supanova shows, and stressing majorly about getting everything printed. But all is well now. I have set the balls rolling, and everything is on track to be ready by then. I made this animation to illustrate how I was feeling under all the pressure, and it, in itself helped me purge the negative emotions, and I feel much better for doing it. I hope you like it. So, the new products I'll have at Supanova, include. Meatbucket Magazine #04, which features the next issues of VioleNt Streak and Checkers' World. MickMacks Meatbucket DVD #01, featuring PoisonTV, Angel Wing Adrift, A Long Night, and much more. As well as the next batch of Sick, Ridiculous Puppets Glow-In-The-Dark stuffed toys. I think I already mentioned that, but, y'know... So, throughout the first half of April, I will be in Brisbane, and then in Melbourne for the second half, so come visit me at my stall, or hang out with me after the shows, and show me all the fun places to go and things to do!!! Very excited about it, I hope I can see you then!!! Jarrod. |

13/02/2010 Hello all, It seems I have not updated the site for a while. I have been busy busy busy. In preparations for the upcoming Supanova conventions in April. VioleNt Streak #3 is complete, and Checkers' World #3 is currently underway and coming along nicely. Also, MickMacks Meatbucket DVD #01 is being put together, and it will feature all of your favourite MickMacks short films, including Poison TV in HD, as well as all-new animated menus. Infinitely better quality than what you've seen on YouTube, so stay tuned for that. Also, also the new batch of glowy SRP stuffed toys will be unleashed quite soon. I know you're excited. Apart from MickMacks stuff, I have been extremely busy with dozens of comissions for various bands and other clients. These artworks can all be viewed on my DeviantArt gallery (link above, and to the right) So, apart from the inherent cabin-fever brought on by all this work, I am extremely excited about Supanova, and I do believe everything will be ready by the time it arrives. Here's an oldie, but I still find it entertaining-------------------------------------------------------> Sent in, jeez, over a year ago now I believe. We still know not what has become of poor BucketHead_01, whether he's even dead or alive. Lots of love, and happiness and ice cream to you all, and a very happy Valentine's day, J. |
|
08/01/2010 HOORAAAYYY!!!! Poison TV is finally up and ready for you to watch!!! *Runs around in circles, screaming and flailing madly until I bang my head on something and knock myself out...
...Eventually wakes up and continues typing* So, yeah. Watch it!! and leave me some comments either by email, on my YouTube channel, Deviant Art or FaceBook, telling me how awesome it is, and subsequently, how awesome I am for making it. Haha. Hope Y'all dig. Later, J.

04/01/2010 Hello there!! How wonderful it is for you to come look at my website, thank you! Well it looks like 2010 has kicked off with a very interesting start. I hope you are all comfy and cozy and full of optimism for what it has yet to bring. Speaking of which, we here at MickMacks are running at full steam to bring you all kinds of wonderful new things to entertain you. The animated short film 'PoisonTV' which I have been working on for the past few months is finally complete, and currently undergoing sound design development by master musician Nick Soole www.slimeythingswebsite.com. So that will be online for your viewing pleasure very soon. So, now that I am free from animating. I, for some reason, decided to start another couple of animations, even though I told myself I wouldn't. Also the next issue of Meatbucket mag is coming along nicely, and it, and more will be available in time for this year's Supanova! I have received alot of requests for comissions, so keep an eye on my DeviantArt Gallery to see those pop up. Hmm... well, I believe that is all... so... catchya later, J. |

13/12/09 Seasons greetings everyone, I hope you've all been good little girls and boys this year, so Santa won't come to your houses and kill you. Well, we here at MickMacks are starting to prepare early for Supanova next year. You can expect to see a whole range of new products by then, to tickle your fancy, (depending on what you like to do with them? O.O) PoisonTV is imminent! -Coming very very soon, so hold on to your jingle bells for that one. Production has also begun on VioleNt Streak again, issue# 03, introducing a new plot twist, thicker than egg-nog! Mmmmm... nog. And here's a run through of the Checker's World game I made a while back, in case you couldn't be bothered playing it, you can just watch it, without having to do a thing! -Aren't I thoughtful? 'tis the season to be Jolly, From Santa's happy li'l Elvin. |
|
24/11/2009 Hellooo Helloooo Helllooooooo, Gah!! Well, PoisonTV is still taking a very long time to produce, however, it is coming along nicely, shan't be too long now. Apart from that...

Yeah, not much really, but here's something to watch; Checkers' first animated short.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->

05/11/2009 Hi, Well, it's been a year since MickMacks was nothing but an idea and a few bits and pieces of unfinished comics. Now, I've achieved so much. I've managed to fit more productivity, personal growth and new experiences and lessons into my life in this year than any other. I've been travelling in and out of alternate universes (States of Australia), meeting countless new and wonderful people and having great new experiences. (Then watching those universes becoming unstable and, escaping just in time before they inexorably collapsed in on themselves.) :P I've produced many books, animations, games, graphics, merchandise, website and more, I've had special help from many people in many different ways, but it would not be a lie to say that I achieved it all by myself. All within the last year, so I feel pretty proud of myself. But, that's not to say I'm finished. far from it, I've still got so many more plans, all injected with the knowledge I gained this year. So you can look forward to seeing new stuff from MickMacks in the near future. J. |
Hmmm... I cannot seem to find how to embed videos with the new design of YouTube. If anyone could let me know, that would be awesome! |
02/10/09 Hello, Welcome to October, or as I prefer to think of it, the month that houses the glorious holiday of Hallowe'en (and Devil's Night, of course) This month should bring a few new things from your favourite company called MickMacks, depending on technical limitations and my ability to pull my thumb out of my ass. These include a couple of new films, one, an animation I've been working on for a while, which has thus far, proven to have taken much more time and effort than I first expected, and now even more, because I have managed to secure the services of an extremely talented sound designer. It doesn't bother me too much any more that it's taking so long, because, anything worth doing, is worth doing right - right? The other film will be a sequel to one I made earlier, that seems to have been quite popular, but I'm not gonna give anything away until production has come along a bit further. I'll also be travelling to Sydney halfway through the month, and again at the end (even though I only just got back from melbourne) And that's about all the news from MickMacks at the moment, Jarrod. |

I'm great, thank you for asking. Well, although from the outside, it may look like I have not done anything at all recently, I really have been working hard on an animation and also a new addition to the site, which I think you'll all like very much. (but I can't tell you what it is just yet.) Just that, the animation started out as an idea that I thought would be quick, but has since grown to immense size and therefore, it's not done yet. And with both of these new things, I'm waiting to have them done before I expose them to the world. (hmm... that sounded funny...) Anyway, catchya later, PS here's some DISSOLUTION interrupts for you to trip out to.

31/08/09 (pretty sure it's still 2009) Zello, How are you all? I'm good, thanks. Well, I've been sick for a while, and sleeping patterns are FUBAR, as well as tormented by desperate loneliness and isolation... But I've been working on a new animation, which is something I haven't done in a while. It's coming along well, except for insane rendering time (12 and a half minutes per frame, thus far) I was hoping to get it finished before I up and leave on the vagabond trail again, but I don't think I will. I'll be heading to Sydney this week to go to the Slimey Things gig (above) and also to check out Animania, so that should be fun. Hopefully Earth hasn't changed too much since the last time I was there (or... has, depending on what 'changes') Zeeya later, Jarr-odd. |

19/08/09 Good something, Well, back to the drawing board. Haha, -always wanted to say that. However for me, it doesn't mean that I am going back to phase 1... ...This film I'm working on has been taking up most of my time, and given me nothing much to show for, so lately I've felt like I'm just wasting time. Therefore, I'm putting it on the backburner for a while in favour of working on my comics and drawings again. I am still working on it, but just giving it a little less priority, so I can put more stuff up more frequently. Soooo, while there's no 'MegaRod5000' film to watch, check out this super-cool 'Motion-Comic' ad I made for Checkers' Asylum!!-----------> ...Well, seeya in the funny pages (whatever that means), Jarrod. |
|
09/08/09 Hi, ...Well, not much to report. As anyone who talks to me would know, I've been working on another film to put on youtube, (because that's all I blab about), and I'm encountering problem after problem with it, so I think it'll take a bit longer than I first expected... However, here's a sneak preview of things to come (the TV screen to the right)------------> Not much else to show, so here's some links to a few 'reruns' MegaRod5000 Short (this is what my current film is based on) MickMacks Meatbucket Unofficial Fan Documentary So... how 'bout that local sports team? ...uh.... ...well, 'til next time, Hasta La Sandwich, Jarrod. |

28/07/09 Website Version 3.0 Hi everybody, Well, I've crawled back under the rock known as MickMacks HQ, to focus on business. Sorry I there hasn't been much activity on the site for a while, I've been away, galavanting in an alternate dimension that some of you may call 'reality' -But I can only seem to exist in that universe for an exponetially shrinking amount of time before it becomes unstable and collapses. So I'm back now, and you've probably noticed the new design for the website. I hope you like it. I'm going for extreme minimalism, so none of you incredibly busy and wonderful people need to waste any of your highly important time trying to find stuff. After all, time is money, and money is what life's all about, isn't it?
Ch'ching ch'ching, Jarrod. |
StarDate-Who knows? 07/07/? Mmmmmello, This is Jarrod speaking (typing/acting as the voice in your head if you're reading this, but I know that you aren't.) Anyways, Boredom has gotten the best of me once again, so I'm gonna travel interstate once again for a couple of weeks to try and temporarily escape it once again. I haven't really done much 'work' since my last adventure in Sydney, which I think was last week. Except I have made a new short fillum thingy thing, inspired by a true story, and illustrating the feeling of isolation and boredom in which I live. Take a looky at it, it will provide you with a potentially interesting insight into the mind of your favaourite MickMacks guy, Jarrod Elvin. Click on the cool movie poster to the other left to watch--------------------------------------------> Yeah, so I'll be galavanting around Brisbane, then Melbourne, to go annoy my friends who live there, and force them to put up with my madness, so I'm not the only one who has to. So if you're in those places, run and hide, 'cus I'm comin'!
End transmission.

02/07/poo-thousand and nine HiHi, Well, I'm back from Supanova in Sydney, which was heaps and heaps of fun, as always. I got some footage and made a movie of my adventures there, along with the great and wonderful Morgan Murphy who has been an incredible help to me. So click on the pic to the right to watch!------------> Also Check out the photos on my Myspace and the MickMacks Facebook page (links above) and don't forget to become a fan on the MickMacks facebook page (how can I be expected to take over the universe if I don't have an army?) Also, I've just had to delete a bunch of stuff from the website to prevent going over the baandwith limit, so, unfortunately, I've had to get rid of the original version, I don't think anyone went to it anyway, and it was pretty pointless having it there taking up space. I always thought of it as an abandoned amusement park, left neglected until an 'incident' occurs, then demolished. I also learned that the Checkers' Asylum maze in the MickMacks Activity Book is not possible to complete (just go 'round the outside) and there is a double-up of pages in the new SRP book. The individuals responsible for these errors have been painfully executed and subsequently fired. (We at MickMacks do this because we value our customers' patronage, and we care about people) -so, with any luck, their families will starve and die of grief, leaving no seeds of incompetence behind. Soooooooooooo, I guess I'll catchya later, NinJa -rrod.

24/6/09 HowdyHo, Big news! Meatbucket Magazine #03 is finally hot off the press and available for you to order!! (I know how excited you are) -Same goes for the new 'Sick, Ridiculous Puppets' book #3!! -Just when you thought you'd seen the last o' those little bastards - They're back, to compliment the release of the new stuffed toy, or vice-versa. Also, I'll be off to Sydney this weekend for Supanova, which will tons o' fun, so I hope to see a there! If you're in the area, drop by my stall, and have proof that I actually exist in the real world, (even I have my doubts about that sometimes) Anyso, (I just made up that word, I couldn't choose between 'so' or 'anyway') That's the news, I apologise that I excited you all so much that you peed your pantsuits, but I MickMacks does not accept liabilty for any damage or cleaning bills incurred. Have a fantastically super-awesome day (if you want to, you don't have to if you'd rather not) and I'll see you on the other side of the looking-glass (whatever the hell that means.) J. |
05/6/09 Hi there! Well, I don't blame you if you're not reading this, you're probably too busy drooling over the photo. So I'll keep it short. The lovely lady in the pic is the incredibly talented Countess-Grotesque. Recently I had the pleasure of hanging out with her and friends in Melbourne, where she agreed to model for and shoot some ads for me HOORAY!! >n_n< (she's probably sick of me showing them off to everyone who cares to listen...sorry Countess) -Anyway, she does all her own make-up and hair accessories and a whole bunch of other funky stuff, so check out her site; www.countess-grotesque.com The new batch of Sick, Ridiculous Puppets Glow-in-the-Dark stuffed toys are available now. That's what that purple thing in her hand is. She also convinced me to make another SRP book, which I wasn't going to do, but she told me to, so now it's being printed as we speak (as you read... you know what I mean) -The same goes for Meatbucket Mag #03. Also, I'll be heading to Supanova in Sydney in a couple of weeks, so if you're in the area, come visit me at my stall! Well, I said I'd keep it short, but I failed... Isn't it funny how when you're extremely tired, you can just keep going on and on and on and on and... I'll shut up now. J. |

09/5/09 Well, I'm back again. I fixed my brain, I glued it back together, but don't worry, I made sure to use non-toxic superglue - I'm not stupid. However, how does my brain repay me? He runs away! So if you see him, let me know. (He has a tendency to go to dark and diry places, he was last seen in the gutter, and he's very sick. Anyway, not too much to report, very soon MeatBucket Mag #03 will be ready, as well as the next batch of SRP glow-in-the-dark stuffed toys, so stay tooned. Jarro', d'Elvin' into the dark abyss for 27 years (and still descending) |

19/4/09 Howdy y'all, Well, I'm back from Brisbane after my crazy Supanova adventures. The shows themselves were an incredible success, MickMacks rose triumphant with a knockout. Now, this marks the end of round 1 of my ultimate plan of world domina... >ahem< making comic books. : ) A big thank you to all the people who came to talk to me at my stall and bought my products. Keep an eye on the site, there are alot of new products in the works. Now it's time to start round 2, which consists of me basically going into a state of hibernation and working only on Meatbucket Magazines, and whatever krazy krap pops into my head. I will be going to Supanova in Sydney, but there's a few months before that. |

April Fools' Day 2009 Hey Everyone, I'm back from Melbourne Supanova, which was freakin' awesome! I sold a bunch of merchandise, I made some interesting new friends and networks, I spoke to some absolutely stunningly beautiful girls (which is always good), shook hands with one of my comic book heroes, and I managed to spread the word of MickMacks to an enthusiastic market, I really had the time of my life. Thank you everyone who came up to talk to me and buy some of my stuff. Also thanks to all the incredible CosPlay people who took photos with me, all your costumes looked fantastic. I canot wait 'til the weekend for Brisbane, that should be just as cool, if not moreso. I'm writing a blog of my Supanova adventures, which I will put up when I get back. Well, 'til next time, hope to see you at Supanova if you're in the area, Jarrod. |
